We are seeking a qualified Utility Arborist to join our experienced team of Utility Arborists who control vegetation growth threatening the electricity distribution network in the North Canterbury region.

Trainee Line Mechanic

We have an exciting opportunity for a trainee Line Mechanic to join our team. If you have a passion for working outdoors and providing a service for the local community, then this could be the trainee job to help kick start your career. This is a hands-on position where you will gain invaluable experience and an industry recognised qualification, as well as having the support to strive for more in your career.


This position involves training in the construction and maintenance of electricity distribution lines, cable systems, and the safe operation of associated equipment. Some manual civil work is also required as part of this role. We would love to hear from you if you have:

  • a current full drivers licence

Full training will be offered to the suitable applicant who will be required to successfully complete the NZ Certificate in Electricity Supply (Line Mechanic Distribution) Level 4 electrical registration.
