New MainPower Chief Executive
04 December 2017
MainPower is pleased to announce the appointment of Andy Lester as new Chief Executive, following a thorough recruitment process that began in August.
MainPower Board Chair Tony King is delighted to welcome Mr Lester to the business, who will take the lead for the execution of a refreshed strategic direction for the company, following the foundation established under the outgoing Chief Executive Bruce Emson.
"Andy is a proven performer across a range of diverse sectors including infrastructure, technology, manufacturing and agriculture. He has led and developed high achieving teams with a particular focus on customer and culture outcomes. Importantly, he is a leader focussed on safety. We are confident in his ability to lead the business into the future," said Mr King.
Mr Lester was previously Chief Operating Officer of Christchurch International Airport Limited, following senior leadership roles at General Cable, Wrightson Ltd and Caltex Oil.
"Andy’s background within the infrastructure sector, his operational experience and driving customer focus will position him well to lead an organisation through a period of dynamic industry change, while being responsive to consumer demand and delivering value to our customers and wider stakeholders, says Mr King".
"On behalf of the Board, I would like to also take the opportunity to acknowledge Bruce’s contribution and leadership during his time as Chief Executive," added Mr King.
Mr Lester takes up the role of Chief Executive effective immediately.
