Danger: Felling trees near power lines
MainPower has experienced a number of recent outages due to members of the public felling trees near power lines without following the correct process. This is incredibly dangerous and needs to be completed by a suitably qualified arborist. Please contact MainPower or visit the Trees and power lines page on our website for more information on how to fell trees and maintain vegetation safely when near power lines.
Treat all lines as live during the outage period; power may be restored at any time. If you require further information, please call MainPower’s 24-hour fault line – 0800 30 90 80; to report an emergency call 111.
MainPower completed work at Tuahiwi Road on Thursday 29 June.
MainPower would like to thank our customers for their patience throughout the work period. We appreciate that outages are inconvenient and worked as quickly and safely as possible to minimise any disruption.
The planned work was part of a larger project to ensure security of electricity supply to the eastern region. The upgrade will ensure both power quality and the safety of the community will be maintained.
